About

Built from the other side of the audit table.

Your co-pilot for quality, compliance, and continual improvement.

JBird is the product of Quality Management Veteran’s, Inc. It exists because the same problems come up in shop after shop, and none of them are really about quality — they're about a quality system that has been scattered across too many files for too long.

Why this, and why now

Walk into most small and mid-sized aerospace organizations and you find capable people running a real quality system. The inspections happen. The parts are good. The customers are happy.

Then the audit starts, and the trouble isn't the quality — it's the archaeology. The manual is a Word document with three versions in circulation. The interaction of processes is a diagram someone drew years ago that no longer matches how work actually flows. The gap analysis is a spreadsheet on one person's laptop. The last round of corrective actions is spread across an email thread, and the evidence that closed them is an attachment nobody can find.

The enterprise QMS platforms solve this, at a price and a complexity that assumes a full-time quality department and a six-figure budget. The shops that need it most are the ones sized wrong for that — too small for the enterprise tools, too serious to be running the whole thing out of a filing cabinet.

JBird is aimed squarely at that gap.

How we build

Principles we're holding to.

Auditor-shaped, not vendor-shaped

Every workflow is designed around what an auditor will actually ask for and in what order. Containment before root cause. Evidence attached at the clause. Effectiveness verified before anything closes.

Flexible where organizations differ

No two interaction-of-processes maps are alike, so we ship a builder rather than a template you have to argue with. The software adapts to your system, not the other way round.

Honest about status

The product is in active development. We'd rather tell a prospective pilot which modules are working today than sell a roadmap as if it shipped.

Built for the next revision

With IA9100 arriving, anything built around one fixed clause list will age badly. Clause structure is data in JBird, so a standard revision is a content update.

The founder

“I've written enough findings to know that the good organizations and the struggling ones are separated by whether they can put their hands on the evidence. That's a software problem, and it's a solvable one.”

Quality Management Veteran’s, Inc. was founded to build the system I kept describing to quality managers after the closing meeting — the one that didn't exist at a price they could justify.

We are not an aerospace operating company and we don't consult on certification. We build the software, and we're building it with a small group of pilot organizations before opening it up more widely.

Pilot program

We're looking for a handful of shops to build this with.

Twenty-three modules are already built and working. Pilot organizations get the system at no cost during development, direct input on what gets built next, and a migration path when the IA9100 revision lands.
